The Garhwali language is spoken in Uttarakhand. It is a part of the Central Himalayan language group of the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages.
It is written in Devanagari script, but some words might also be written with a variant of the Gurumukhi script.
The Garhwali language has a rich literature with ancient texts such as "Bhattikavya" and "Shivalikaparvata".
